A “Grown-Up” Girl’s New Bedroom

Back when I was pregnant with Luca, I wanted to create a project for my daughter, Kendra. Something I could do with her and for her (since the baby was already receiving all the attention). So, we decided to create a new space for her. Somewhere she could hang out and enjoy when she needed some time to get away. She was 11 at the time, so we were looking for a design that would fit her growing and maturing styles well into her teen years. We came up with the perfect “tween” design! It incorporated pretty girlie pink but also black, white, and gold accents to help provide a more sophisticated look.
After we made a plan for our design, it was time to get shopping! Kendra and I found most of the accents for her new room at Target and Hobby Lobby, two of our favorite stores. We also did some “shopping” around the house and found some great pieces that would work with her new color scheme. I love to recycle and repurpose decor!

Once all the shopping was finished, we needed to get to work! With Kendra’s help, I was able to prep, tape, create the striped accent wall, and paint all in one afternoon!

The best little helper in the world!

These two lazy pups just watched[napped] as Kendra and I did all the work!
The room turned out great! Kendra loves her new getaway!
I hope you enjoyed this project! Thanks for stopping by!
