(Shhh… It’s A Surprise!)
Something you should know about me: I LOVE to party! But, not just for the partying, mostly for the prep and planning. Don’t get me wrong, I like the entertaining, food, and socialization of a good party. But, there’s nothing like creating something amazing and enjoyable for all your guests. Or, in this case, awing the Guest Of Honor: my brother-in-law who was turning 30!
There’s nothing like the suspense of a surprise party. Every little detail needs to be perfect, so I was thrilled when I was asked to help! I immediately created a new Pinterest board with tons of different theme ideas. One idea that I loved: booze and tasting bars. Knowing my Brother-In-Law loves craft-beer and bourbon, this was the perfect theme. So, I set out on a shopping adventure to find the perfect décor.
My favorite stores for affordable party supplies: Pat Catan’s, Target, Amazon and even Walmart, at times. (I have always believed you can make a party beautiful, without spending a ton of money.) While on this hunt to find decorations, all these stores seemed to have a common style: country/farmhouse. Since I usually decorate with a glam/transitional look, I thought it could be fun to mix it up a little. So, my décor style for this party became: farmhouse glam, and it was perfect!
With all parties, I reuse what I can. In this case, all of the black tablecloths are recycled (and have been used in tons of different parties). These are a great investment for those who love to entertain. I also reused all of the glass vases, I just added the ribbon to give them a new look.
A favorite of all the guests, the whiskey tasting bar included three different bourbons.
My favorite touch to this party, the mini red-solo cups for beer tasting! How cute are these?!
I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed planning this event! Thanks for stopping by!
